BBA 9 ‘Hotshots’ to be moved to another country in the world?
The production of Big Brother Africa is most likely going to be moved to another country, said the head of corporate affairs at Multichoice Africa, Caroline Creasy, on Wednesday. This, after a fire damaged the house on Tuesday.
“All our 56 cameras were destroyed, the house has special glass for crews to shoot behind so we can’t simply build a new house – we have to look elsewhere at other Big Brother houses around the world to complete the production,” eNCA quoted Creasy as saying.
Producers and team members are working hard to find another house as soon as possible. The show was originally going to kick off on Sunday, 7 September, but this will now be delayed because of the fire.
“This is a major challenge for us, but we have a great team and are prepared for major logistical projects,” said Creasy.
She said the core crew members will remain on the project. The resources available in the country the show will eventually be set in will depend which technical crew remain on the production.

Creasy said the Big Brother Africa contestants were currently staying at a hotel in Johannesburg.
“They are obviously very disappointed about the delay in the show’s start but they are on standby for when shooting begins in the new location,” she said.
Contestants on the show compete for $300 000 (about R3.2 million) with the aim of being the last one to remain in the house (a period of 91 days maximum).
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined as investigations continue.
